General questions
What areas do you cover?+
All of Edinburgh and the Lothians — including Leith, Morningside, Corstorphine, Portobello, Musselburgh, Newington and Stockbridge. If your postcode starts with EH, we almost certainly come to you. Not sure? Just call and we'll confirm right away.
Do you really come to my location?+
Yes. Home, workplace car park, or the roadside — our mechanic brings the tools and parts needed to fix most jobs on the spot, wherever your car is parked.
How is this different from a normal garage?+
No dropping the car off, no courtesy car, no waiting room. A qualified mechanic comes to you with the same diagnostic equipment a garage would use, so most repairs are sorted in one visit, on your driveway or at the roadside.
Where can you work?+
Any level, safe parking space with room to move around the car — driveways, streets and workplace car parks are all fine. We can't work in live traffic lanes or in some multi-storey car parks with height limits, and we'll always tell you if we need you to move the car a short distance first.
Booking and availability
How do I book?+
Call +44 7411292954, message us on WhatsApp or use the contact form. Give us your registration, postcode and a description of the fault, and we'll tell you straight away roughly what it will cost and when we can be there.
Are you really open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week?+
Yes, including bank holidays, Christmas Day and Hogmanay. Overnight and weekend callouts are common for breakdowns and won't-start cars.
How fast can you arrive?+
Typically 30–60 minutes across Edinburgh for emergencies, depending on traffic and your exact location. For planned work such as servicing or brake replacement, we offer scheduled slots so you can plan your day around us.
Can I book for a specific time?+
Yes. Choose a morning, afternoon or evening slot and we'll call or text when the mechanic sets off, so you know exactly when to expect them.
Can I cancel or move my booking?+
Yes, just call or message us as early as you can. There is no charge for rescheduling, and we'll always try to find a slot that works for you.
Pricing and payment
How is pricing calculated?+
Parts plus a fixed labour time for the job, worked out the same way for every customer. We quote before starting and stick to it, and we'll always explain what is included.
Do you charge a call-out fee?+
No separate call-out fee. Travel is included in the quoted price for the job, so the figure we give you on the phone is the figure on your invoice.
What payment methods do you accept?+
Card, Apple Pay, bank transfer or cash on completion. Fleet and business clients can be set up on monthly account terms with a single consolidated invoice.
Is diagnostics charged separately?+
Diagnostics is charged as its own service, then credited in full against the repair if you go ahead with us the same day — so you never pay twice.
Will the price change once you start?+
Only if we find extra work that genuinely needs doing. We always call to explain what we've found and agree a new price with you before continuing.
Services and repairs
What repairs can be done on-site, and what needs a garage?+
Brakes, batteries, servicing, diagnostics, air conditioning, tyres, suspension, sensors, belts and most electrical faults can all be done at your location. Gearbox removal, some clutch changes and big engine strip-downs need proper garage equipment — we'll say so honestly rather than attempt it on your drive.
Do you work on EVs and hybrids?+
We service hybrids and handle routine EV maintenance such as brakes, tyres and 12V battery work. High-voltage battery work is referred to a specialist EV technician for safety reasons.
Do you do MOTs?+
MOT testing legally requires an approved test centre, but we carry out pre-MOT checks and fix MOT failures at your address, so you only need a quick retest afterwards.
What parts do you use?+
OE or OE-matched parts from trusted suppliers as standard. Genuine manufacturer parts are available on request, usually at a small price difference.
Vehicles and compatibility
Which makes and models do you cover?+
All mainstream makes and models — small city cars, family cars, SUVs and 4x4s — across petrol, diesel, hybrid and EV. Ask us about your specific make if you're unsure.
Do you work on vans and commercial vehicles?+
Yes, we regularly service and repair vans, taxis and other light commercial vehicles for both individuals and local businesses.
Do you cover older or classic cars?+
In most cases, yes. Let us know the age and model when you call so we can confirm parts availability before booking.
Can I supply my own parts?+
Yes, though the guarantee then covers our labour only, not the part you supplied. We're always happy to check the part is correct before fitting it.
Emergency and roadside help
What counts as an emergency?+
Anything that leaves you stranded or unsafe — a car that won't start, a breakdown on the road, a flat tyre, or a warning light you're worried about. Call us any time, day or night.
What should I do while I'm waiting?+
Move to a safe spot if you can, put your hazard lights on, and stay somewhere visible and out of live traffic. We'll call to confirm arrival time and talk you through anything urgent.
Can you fix it there and then, or will I need a tow?+
Most breakdowns are fixed on the spot. If the fault genuinely needs garage equipment, we'll tell you straight away and help arrange onward recovery.
Is it safe to have work done on my street?+
Yes. Our mechanics use warning triangles, hazard lights and hi-vis clothing, and won't work anywhere they judge unsafe — we'll ask you to move the car a short distance first if needed.
Warranty and guarantee
Do repairs come with a guarantee?+
Yes — 12 months on parts and labour for work we carried out, subject to normal wear and correct use.
What if the issue returns?+
If the same fault comes back, we come out and put it right at no extra cost, no questions asked.
Will this affect my manufacturer warranty?+
No. Servicing to manufacturer schedule with correct-spec parts protects your warranty under Block Exemption rules, and we give you a full digital service record as proof.
Are your mechanics insured?+
Yes. Every mechanic works under our public liability and motor trade insurance, which covers both the vehicle and any accidental damage to your property while we work.
Fleet and business customers
Do you offer business accounts?+
Yes. Contract clients are set up on monthly account terms with one consolidated invoice, rather than paying job by job.
Can you service multiple vehicles on a schedule?+
Yes. We can plan services and inspections around your vehicles' mileage and MOT dates, with overnight or out-of-hours servicing available to avoid downtime for your business.
Do you look after taxis, couriers and trade vehicles?+
Yes, from a single company vehicle upwards to full fleets — it's one of our most requested services.
Do you provide compliance records?+
Yes, digital service and defect records for every vehicle in your fleet, ready to show for compliance checks or driver handovers.
